Syntax
In the extended EPC, additional resources like an organizational unit are introduced. Organizational units may be differentiated into post, role or person. [1] An organizational unit is connected to a function by an organizational flow connector, a straight line without arrow. [2], [3], [4] Every function is associated with one or more organizational units and every organizational unit is involved in one or more functions. [5]
Semantic
An organizational unit is connected to a function for different reasons: The organizational unit executes the function, contributes to the function, must be informed about the result of the function or has a consulting role in the function. [1], [2], [5]
Relation type
An organizational unit is connected to a function by an organizational flow connector. [2]
